Speaker of the day: Anne-Sophie Thilo — Well-being at Work

Anne-Sophie Thilo

Every day we spotlight one voice from the UnoMe network. Today: Anne-Sophie Thilo, Well-being at Work — one of the keynote speakers we recommend for corporate events and conferences in Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and across the GCC.

Who is Anne-Sophie Thilo?

Born in Lausanne in 1987, Anne-Sophie Thilo is a sailor who was part of the Swiss Sailing national squads. A two-time European champion and junior World vice-champion, she participated in the Beijing Olympic Games. In 2006, she finished fifth at the World Sailing Games and became European vice-champion in the 470 class (Olympic category for 4.7-meter long sailboats) in 2008, just weeks before the Olympic Games.

Anne-Sophie Thilo, in addition to her sports career, studied for a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in communication sciences and a Master's degree in Advanced Studies in sports administration and technology.

At the end of her career, Anne-Sophie Thilo became involved with numerous voluntary associations, notably with Cookie, which supports young Swiss athletes, and Swiss Disabled Sailing, an organization that opens the doors of sailing sports to people with physical disabilities.

She was also communications director for Stéphane Lambiel's company Special Figures and was also the press attaché for the Swiss skater. Very committed to the development of young people through sport, she now works within the IOC, more specifically in the Youth Olympic Games department.Language spoken by the speaker

Anne Sophie Thilo delivers in French-speaking Switzerland, in Geneva, Lausanne… It's hard to find a better example of motivation and self-improvement for personal development than Anne-Sophie Thilo.

After the sudden halt of her sports career in 2008 – a forced separation from her teammate Emmanuelle Rol after the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 – she was forced to mentally rebuild herself and find the motivation to bounce back in her career, while keeping a foot in what remains her passion: sailing.

Her natural leadership allowed her to be the communications director and press attaché for one of the country's most famous athletes.
