Speaker of the day: Axel Allétru — Leadership and Management
Every day we spotlight one voice from the UnoMe network. Today: Axel Allétru, Leadership and Management — one of the keynote speakers we recommend for corporate events and conferences in Salalah, Al Ain and across the GCC.
Who is Axel Allétru?
From a young age, Axel Allétru gravitated towards motorsports. In 1995, he began his career in the world of BMX and motocross. A relentless competitor and trainer, he would repeatedly achieve recognition at National, European, and World levels.
During his participation in the 2010 Motocross Grand Prix in Latvia, Axel Allétru crashed and landed violently. This serious accident plunged him into the ordeal of paraplegia: he was only 20 years old.
Following this diagnosis, he set himself a goal: to walk again. Countless efforts followed, leading the former champion to see the first signs of improvement that would lead him to his rebirth.
A truly dedicated athlete, Axel Allétru embarked on a new challenge. To participate in the most extreme rally in the world, the "Dakar", in a Buggy...
On January 17, 2020, he won the SSV T3S category and became the first disabled person in the world to win a category at the Dakar. Now he shares his life experience(s) to demonstrate that one can bounce back after a life accident and that "nothing is impossible" provided one works hard and believes.

An inspiring life story
How to bounce back after a failure? How to continue dreaming after a tragic accident? How to surpass oneself after achieving “success”? How to avoid stagnating and settling for a mediocre life when you can swim in happiness? Axel Allétru answers all these questions by sharing his life story, so that it resonates with you. Everyone will find in his speech their own path and the adequate resources to move forward.
Technology serving disability
Many companies appreciate how technique and know-how allowed Axel Allétru to overcome his physical limitations. Indeed, the invention of special splints that now allow him to walk again and the engineering deployed for the adaptation of his vehicle to win the Dakar against able-bodied competitors constitute an essential step in this champion's journey to victory. His interventions as a speaker are an opportunity to motivate and inspire the audience, by making them discover the attitude adopted daily to overcome the ordeal of paraplegia in particular and life's challenges in general. He shares his life experience and his journey as a high-level athlete within companies, to enable employees to gain perspective, motivate themselves, develop team spirit, and face new challenges with the right mindset.
