Magali di Marco

Every day we spotlight one voice from the UnoMe network. Today: Magali di Marco, Well-being at Work — one of the keynote speakers we recommend for corporate events and conferences in Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and across the GCC.

Who is Magali di Marco?

Magali Di Marco Messmer is a Swiss professional triathlete, born on September 9, 1971, in La Chaux-de-Fonds. She first started swimming at the age of 10. In 1992, under the name Magali Chopard, she won the title of Swiss champion in the 400m individual medley. Soon after, she turned to triathlon. In 1995, she won the Swiss championship and participated in the European and World championships.

She made triathlon her profession: "a dream job," she confides. From 1997, she began her preparation for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The result: she stood on the podium with a bronze medal. After this victory, she took a break from sports in 2001 to experience the joys of motherhood for the first time.

The public saw her return in 2003, and she would win the national title 3 years in a row starting from 2005. In the World Cup, she placed in the top 10 multiple times. In 2007, she ranked 7th in Hamburg, achieving her best result at the World Championships. In 2012, she gave birth to a second boy.

In recent years, she has ended her athletic career but maintains her physical training for her well-being and continues to set herself sporting challenges, particularly in trail running. On a blog named after her, Magali di Marco shares her life as a former champion.Language spoken by the speaker
