Speaker of the day: Mathieu Rebeaud — Well-being at work

1. Rebeaud (Matthieu, by his real first name) was born in Payerne in 1982. Son of Antoine Rebeaud and grandson of Frédéric Rebeaud, it was written that Mat would follow the same path and ensure the third generation of motocross riders…

At the age of 4, he was given his first bike and started doing his first laps. Very quickly, he participated in regional and then national races in the 80cc and then 125cc categories. He would most certainly have followed this well-trodden path if a major event had not intervened, the FFX, more precisely freestyle motocross. This spectacular discipline made its official appearance in 1999 during the Summer X-Games.

For a while, Mat alternated motocross races and freestyle shows/competitions, as his father insisted that his son practice a "reasonable" sport and continue motocross racing.

Having already practiced jumps and tricks since he was little, he proved to be far too good in the air and definitively turned to freestyle motocross, abandoning track racing in 2005 after winning the "Night of the Jumps" competition.

Today, Mat only uses the ground to gain speed before taking flight. His Backflip Combos and other Underflips (which he, by the way, invented himself) are currently the best in the world of freestyle motocross, and he continues to practice in his garden for new tricks that no one has ever seen before.

No sport has pushed its limits as quickly as freestyle motocross. Mat has greatly contributed to this and continues to push the boundaries. "Playing with the bike is all I want."Languages spoken by the speaker
