Antoine Verdon is a specialist and speaker on the subject of blockchain and the metaverse.
Having embraced new technologies at the end of his law studies in 2008, Antoine Verdon founded several companies with the common thread of digitalization and its impact on the business models of traditional companies.
Antoine is the Executive Director of BlockFactory SA, a company based in the heart of the Zug "Crypto Valley" which has become one of the largest providers of software development services in the blockchain sector. He is also one of the founders of Proxeus, a set of open-source standards for the digitization, registration, storage, and management of assets, dubbed "WordPress for blockchain," which raised USD 25 million via an ICO ("Initial Coin Offering") in February 2018.
In 2016, he co-founded the Swiss LegalTech association, bringing together lawyers and developers interested in the digitalization of legal professions. The Swiss Legal Tech Conference, whose first edition took place in 2017, also helped shape the Swiss scene by gathering 700 participants around a two-day hackathon in Zurich.
Between 2013 and 2015, Antoine developed and managed one of the first venture capital vehicles in Switzerland, focused exclusively on financial technologies and blockchain. Antoine worked at UBS and Lombard Odier as a strategic advisor to the management and board of directors of several Swiss banks on topics related to financial technologies and blockchain.
In 2008, he co-founded Sandbox, one of the world's largest communities of entrepreneurs under 30, present in over 100 countries. Passionate about politics, he became a member of the parliament of his hometown, Lausanne, at the age of 20 – the youngest member ever elected. In 2005, he co-authored a book on global challenges in collaboration with several leaders, including HRH the Prince of Wales.
