Marie Martinod.

Marie Martinod, Olympic half-pipe silver medalist, was born in Bourg Saint-Maurice, France. From a family passionate about winter sports, she started skiing at the age of 2 and a half. She began mogul skiing and acrobatic jumping at the traditional Club des sports from the age of 9. She was then taken under the wing of the Dynastar team and, at 16, began competing in international freestyle contests. Considered a boy's sport at the time, Marie Martinod nevertheless managed to find her place thanks to her motivation and won several contests over several years.

For personal development reasons, she ended her career at 23 to start a family.

In 2011/2012, she returned to half-pipe, which made its first appearance at the Sochi 2014 Olympics.

In 2013, she won the X Games then became an Olympic silver medalist in 2014. Between 2014 and 2015, for health reasons, she took a white season. 2016 became the year of her return to the podiums with two podiums in three World Cup events.
